Regional staff present roads plan to city council

Posted Jun 8th, 2026

Mayor Siscoe and Regional are adapting quickly to the new reality of Bill 100.

Regional staff presented to city council last Monday seeking to inform city councillors about Regional plans. This is the beginning a very direct and strong bridge between city and Region.

The Mayor will want a well informed city council to support his vote at the New Regional council.

The Mayor will have some sort of weighted vote at the Region on many issues, priority of St.Catharines road projects is one of them.

A problem for the Mayor would be a split vote at council, and can he split his weighted vote to match his council vote ?
